The Gentle Whisper of God, by Gayelee Reynolds

Today, I want to take a moment to reflect on the greatness of our God and the transformative power of prayer. As we come before Him, we can trust that He goes before us, lighting the path we should walk.

In the busyness of life, it’s easy to overlook the comfort we find under the shadow of His wings. This sacred space is where we can truly rest and rejuvenate. When we quiet ourselves, we can listen for His gentle whisper, which often speaks in the stillness of our hearts.

I’m reminded of the powerful passage in 1 Kings 19:11-13, where the Lord instructs Elijah to stand on the mountain:

“The LORD said, ‘Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the LORD, for the LORD is about to pass by.’ Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper.”

In this scripture, we see that God is often not found in the loud and chaotic events of our lives. Instead, He meets us in the gentle whisper, inviting us to listen and draw closer to Him. It’s in these quiet moments when we can truly experience His presence and guidance.

As we prepare for a mighty move of God in our lives, let us remember that it’s not in the earthquakes or the fires where we will find Him, but in the quiet moments of prayer. Our God is listening for our voices as we seek Him earnestly.

Let us rise confidently, knowing God will meet us here in prayer. The battles are won in these sacred spaces where we surrender our struggles and give Him the glory.

As you go about your day, I encourage you to find those quiet moments to listen for His gentle whisper. Trust that He is with you, guiding your steps and fulfilling His promises in your life. Embrace the journey of seeking Him, knowing freedom and transformation await in the stillness.

Yes, God still speaks today (My sheep hear my voice)...may we listen well.
