Be Revived by Goodness, by Krista Dunk

Early one morning about two weeks ago, I had a series of dreams. In them, I watched as people were being refreshed and strengthened by acts of kindness, hugs, encouragement, provision, answers, and various kinds of blessings from other people. As I awoke, I pondered the dreams and how wonderfully encouraging they were. "Lord, what was that about?" I asked. Then, I heard this phrase in my spirit:

People are being revived by goodness.

Goodness

I quickly scribbled this phrase in the journal I keep next to my pillow, as to not forget. This thought has come to mind several times since then, and in my quiet time today, I asked the Lord more about it. "Lord, what else about this?"

A picture came up in my mind of something being smeared onto a glassy surface (later to realize it was probably the surface of an eye or possibly a globe), and it looked similar to coconut oil. This salve began to slowly melt and soak into where it was applied. The goodness of God was being absorbed into people, changing their perspective—their outlook on life. Those who felt hopeless, alone, sad, disappointed, and struggling were being revived by goodness. As they were revived, it caused their heart to overflow with a good theme. Of course, when something overflows it escapes its original container and flows onto whatever is nearby.

"My heart is overflowing with a good theme..." —Psalm 45:1a

The goodness was infused into a person as an individual, which then spread into society. When our eyes are attuned to spot more of His goodness, it brings more hope, thanks, satisfaction, peace, generosity, gratefulness, and trust—trust in others and trust in God. Some wonder, "Is there any goodness in the world anymore?" But we can play a role in spreading God's goodness. We, and others, can have our hearts and minds revived through experiencing the goodness of God through others.

"I would have lost heart unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living." —Psalm 27:13

I pray that you experience God's goodness and for the goodness to infuse into you at a deep level, so much so that you become someone who carries and releases goodness to those around you. People will be revived by goodness!
